Parent Education Program: Parent Education Support Committee. The Parent Education Support Committee (PESC) aims to provide the Parent Education Program with the support, information and resources necessary to continuously assess the impact and outreach, and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the County’s parenting programs and services.The PESC is comprised of service providers working with parents and families through the schools, social services, health care, early childhood education, homeless shelters, the Partnership for Children, Youth and Families, churches, mental health and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Most importantly, PESC includes parents as members.
What We Did This Past Year:
- Conducted four Parent Learning Fairs with over 400 participants in Erie County in partnership with school transition teams
- Continued revisions of “Children Do Come With Instructions” booklet to be distributed to community members with young children
- Developed infant and toddler activity segments for Ready Set Learn; the segments air on WJET the first Friday of each month
