Early Connections is pleased to announce our newest program, Early Explorers! This funded preschool program is designed to give children a quality early learning experience, because we believe that learning IS an adventure. Your child will participate in exciting active learning experiences, which will help develop skills in literacy, math, and motor abilities, as well as social skills that include sharing, listening, playing with others, and following directions. United States Secretary of Education visits Early Connections

While on the Great Lakes Road Tour, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan stopped at Early Connections. On September 7th, 2011 Secretary Duncan toured a Pre-K Counts classroom at Early Connections and participated in a round table discussion facilited by Nancy Anne Kalista, Executive Director of Early Connections.

“I’m tired of playing catchup,” Secretary Duncan told a panel of more than a dozen local education and business learders. “You have colleges blaming high schools when kids aren’t ready. High schools blaming middle schools. Middle schools blaming elementary. We get our 3, 4, and 5 year olds ready for kindergarten, so many of these challenges go away.”

I’m extremely thrilled with the 2 teachers to 10 students ratio. I think it’s fantastic. It provides opportunity for more one on one time. She has a better chance for being prepared for kindergarten.
