Car Seat Check Up Events 

There are two Car Seat Check Up Events scheduled to help keep families  safe on the road this summer. See car seat inspection flyer Erie County and car seat inspection flyer June 11 North East

  • Tuesday, May 24th from 3 – 7pm at Emergcyare in Garage #11.  Emegycare Station Garages are relocated to 19th and Sassafras Streets.
  • Saturday, June 11 from 2-5pm at 4.N.I.N.E. Thrift Store, 49 Smedley Street, North East (after store is closed).

Child Safety Seats and Booster Seats Inspected by Certified Car Seat Technicians.

It is recommended to have your car seat instructions and vehicle owner’s manual for reference if possible.  It is helpful  if the child is present so that car seat fit can be evaluated.

Union City Family Support Center – FREE PLAYGROUP Program

Parents, spend time together with your child while learning new ways to teach your child through play during this hour long program offered on Thursdays 10:00-11:00am and 3:00-4:00pm.  For more information or to reserve a spot for you and your child please call 814-438-7550.

May Family Friendly Activities

A variety of activities for parents and children including animal programs at Asbury Woods, Block Party for ages 2-5 & 5-11 at Blasco Library, Second Sunday at the Art Museum, story-times, and even the annual Zoo Parade! Check out the May 2016 Calendar for details!

Good parenting is not easy. It can be both a joy and a challenge. Time, skill, and patience are required. As parents, we often have questions or problems and don’t know where to find the answers. Children Do Come With Directions: A Guide for Parents provides information about your child’s health, development, and safety and includes information on choosing quality childcare. It also provides basic information on community resources here in Erie County that are available to help support the needs of families with children.

As you read, keep in mind that the information is meant to serve only as a general guide. Your child will do some things earlier then the timetables here and some things later. That’s perfectly normal, so don’t worry.
