Workforce Programs
Early Connections is the Sponsor and Intermediary for the Early Childhood Registered Apprenticeship Program.
As one of the designated Intermediaries in Pennsylvania, Early Connections is committed to establishing robust Early Childhood Education Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeships. This collaborative effort focuses on:
- Increasing the quality of childcare,
- Strengthening Pennsylvania's childcare profession and workforce, and
- Expanding career opportunities for high school and non-traditional students.
Our Workforce Office connects with agencies, boards, employers, higher education and high schools and CTEs to secure funding and support for high school and nontraditional student while they work toward their degree in early childhood education.
Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship
As Sponsor of the Early Childhood Registered Apprenticeship Program, we connect childcare workers to opportunities to earn their credentials while working at least 25 hours a week in a childcare program.
Through this initiative, childcare workers can receive support while accessing online college courses, building their CDA Professional Portfolio, and preparing for the CDA Credentialing Exam.
Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship
As a Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Sponsor, Early Connections collaborates with school districts, employers, and workforce boards across the region to strengthen the pipeline of the early childhood workforce.
The Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship Program offers a FREE opportunity to help high school & CTE students continue with higher education, help them apply for funding to cover the cost of the Child Development Associate (CDA) exam, and can open the door to employment and higher education opportunities.
